VIDEOGRAF PROJECT

I adapted literature and theatrical plays to script format to be filmed. I researched subjects involving artificial intelligence, technology, and robotics to provide modern ideas for adaptions and I contributed ideas to the writing, editing, and animation staff. I cast and acted in table-reads of the adaptions.

DR. FAUSTUS, PHD

The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus, commonly referred to simply as Doctor Faustus, is an Elizabethan tragedy by Christopher Marlowe, written around 1590.  Based on German stories of the character Faust, it tells of a man who sells his soul to the devil for a life of power and pleasure.

The VgrafLive adaptation, Dr. Faustus, PhD, written by Vgraflive interns Alyssa Harden and Travis Martin, was table-read in August.  Using the original play's text, the language was somewhat modernized for accessibility and much extraneous material was removed.  Leaving only the essentials of the actual story, we concentrate on the evolution of this brilliant young scholar, a precocious and arrogant Doctorate into tormented self-destruction.   It will undergo further development before being performed more fully as part of our Synthetic Science Theatre's AI & US series of plays and mini-documentaries.
